After the round one win against Fridley, Post 334 would face off with Westpahl Armstrong in round two. Westphal beat Post 334 earlier in the season 4-3. Coon Rapids avenged that loss and took care of business with a 5-1 victory.
Jake Dujmovic took the ball for Post 334 and spun an absolute gem for a complete game No Hitter! Jake was in control from the get go retiring the first nine in order. The defense was a little shaky in the 5th allowing Westphal to plate a single run. Dujmovic would pick up his defense and retire 11 of the last 13 in order with a very nifty 6-4-3 double play to end the game; Kirby Pieri to Brock Rohloff to Nick Laakkonen. Dujmovic struck out six batters in the game.
The offense backed Jake early scoring two runs in each of the first two innings. Nick Laakkonen had a 2 RBI single in the first and Alex Bui worked a walk to drive in a run which was followed by a bloop RBI single from Kirby Pieri in the 2nd. The offense would lull in the middle innings as the Armstrong pitcher settled in a bit. Avery Lehman would drive in the 5th Post 334 run in the 7th with a double off of the left field wall to plate Bui. The offense finished with 10 hits, but the real story was the no hitter from Dujmovic.
Coon Rapids is back at it again tomorrow for Day Three of the Sub-State Playoffs when they match up with Ham Lake (Blaine) at 5:30PM on Friday evening. Nick Herold will get the start for Post 334 looking to put CR in the playoff championship round.

Day One of the Legion Sub-State Zone 9 Playoffs brought Fridley Legion back to the the friendly confines of Wintercrest West. Post 334 came away with a very workmanlike 12-1 victory in 7 innings via the mercy rule. The birthday boy, Ray Wellner got the start on the bump for Post 334 going 5 strong innings only surrendering 3 hits and stikring out 3 while only throwing 50 pitches. Ray did not allow a runner to reach third base. Parker Hermansen tossed the last two innings to preserve the win.
The middle of the Coon Rapids lineup did a lot of the damage with Avery Lehman, Nick Laakkonen, and Dayo Lawal all having two hits. Lawal had 2 runs batted in and Laakkonen had 4. Up next is a matchup with Westphal Armstrong who beat Wayzata #2 to advance in the first round.
