Coon Rapids concluded their regular season with a North Hennepin League double header against St. Michael Blue and Fridley. In Game One Post 334 spotted St. Michael Blue 5 runs in the first two innings due to some spotty defense followed by timely hitting by the Blue team. CR was forced to play catch up and ran out of outs, losing 6-3. Ray Wellner stopped the bleeding and gave Coon Rapids 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. The offense was led by Tyler George who had 2 hits including an RBI double. Alex Bui and Nick Laakkonen chipped in the other RBIs.
In Game Two Post 334 bounced back against and took down Fridley 12-2, via the mercy rule. The win avenged the loss to Fridley earlier in the Summer. The 334 boys came out swinging the bats. Dayo Lawal launched a first pitch fastball in to the trees in left center field to put Coon Rapids up 2 in the first. An offensive explosion in the 2nd inning plated 9 runs with all nine 334 hitters coming across the plate in the inning. Lawal and Nick Laakkonen had 2 RBI doubles in the inning, while Aex Bui and Jake Dujmovic chipped in an RBI doubles and Tyler George an RBI triple. The offense finished with 14 hits with half of them being extra bas hits. The offensive output was plenty for Jake Dujmovic who picked up the win going 4 strong innings striking out 7 while giving up 3 hits. Jackson Bates threw a scoreless 5th inning striking out 2 batters.
